It's now 2040 and a lot has changed. In 2025 there was war in several parts of the world, which was fought at the same time as we had to deal with natural disasters in many parts of the world.
Today, all countries agree that we need to take care of our planet, so we have a place to be in the year 2100. No one has resigned from the Copenhagen agreement, which ensures that everyone abides by the agreements, and that our climate can now begin to go the right way, even if it goes very slowly. The green transition really started to take hold in 2026, with changes in cars, houses and our energy consumption. There are further new inventions under development that should help the environment get on track faster.
There has also been world peace - nobody thought it was possible. After Trump was elected in 2024, it became very clear to everyone that we as voters need to get better at politics and not just see information from the ecco chamber you normally go through. It was probably the only good there only out of Trump's second term. Voters have become much better at figuring out who is telling the truth and who is saying what they think you want to hear. This is also because AI has evolved so much that it is no longer possible to keep one's opinions secret from the outside world if one is a public person.
I look forward to seeing my great-grandchildren grow old on a planet that I have helped save from ourselves.
