Wir befinden uns im Jahre 2040, einem Märzmorgen, kurz vor meinem Geburtstag. In unserem Haus wohnt mein Sohn mit seiner Frau und ihrem Sohn Maximilian. Mein Mann und ich sind froh, die Kinder in unserer Nähe zu haben. Wir sind in Rente, gut abgesichert, aber in der ein oder anderen Situation doch froh, auf die Jungend zurückgreifen zu können. Unser Sohn arbeitet jetzt wieder in der Nähe und muss nicht mehr ins Nachbarland pendeln um eine adäquate Arbeitsstelle zu finden und unsere Schwiegertochter arbeitet bei einem Anwalt in der Kanzlei. Beide gehen den geregelten Arbeiten nach und freuen sich, einen guten Job gefunden zu haben.
Unser Enkel geht auf die weiterführenden Schulen. Er ist ein sehr begabter Junge ohne dass er viel lernen muss. Nur ein wenig faul in den Hausaufgaben. Ansonsten wohnt in unserem Haus noch eine ausländische Familie, die, da sie unseren Garten mitbenutzt auch bei der Gartenarbeit hilft. Der Kontakt ist familiär und man hilft sich wo man kann.
Unsere Freunde kommen zu Besuch oder wir besuchen sie, was immer ein freudiges Ereignis, fast schon in einem Fest ausartet, zu dem alle Bewohner des Hauses zusammenkommen.
Unser Land lebt in Frieden und die Straßen sind wieder sicherer geworden. Der Verkehr ist durch den Ausbau des Straßennetzes und dem Ausbau von Bus- und Bahnlinien sehr gut vernetzt und wir können in alle Himmelsrichtungen sowohl mit dem Auto als auch mit Bus und Bahn fahren.
Unser Land hat wieder seinen Nationalstolz zurück wie das in anderen Ländern auch üblich ist und wir leben in Frieden, mit einer gesunden Wirtschaft und einer sehr guten sozialdemokratischen Regierung an der Spitze. Der Wasserkopf der Regierung wurde um die Hälfte geschrumpft, das Beamtentum abgeschafft und die Steuern gesenkt. Es gibt so gut wie keine Armut mehr in Deutschland und die Mindestrente wird ohne Abzüge ausbezahlt. Wir haben uns wieder gefunden, möge es so bleiben, das wäre mein Wunsch.

Buildings, houses, etc. are equipped to be self-sufficient both in terms of energy and basic commodities such as potatoes and the like. I take public transport, which flies fast and allows me to get to work quickly. It's not very sustainable, but it's practical. Cycling has become an activity that's losing ground because it's not as fast. Society is going faster and faster. Everything is computerized and doesn't allow for much social interaction, and that's the problem. As for family life, it's still all together in the same house, but that doesn't really make it feel like a family, as everyone is more isolated in front of an electrical device that occupies their free time.

The oceans are healthy with beautiful coral reefs and plenty of fish. The Nordic countries have winters with long periods of snow. Further south in Europe there are less frequent forest fires and normal amounts of rain that produce good crops. There are no climate refugees. People appreciate nature more and seek it out often. Animal welfare is also an important focus area and less meat is eaten. Smart phones and computers are used less often, and people are less available by phone/email both privately and at work.

Thanks to wise economic policies, Poland became self-sufficient - agriculture flourished, domestic companies produced modern technologies, and people enjoyed stability and prosperity. Society was united, proud of its history and ready to build a future in accordance with its own values. In the evening, sitting on the terrace of his home, John looked out at the peaceful streets and felt gratitude. He knew that his children were growing up in a world where they could feel safe, respect their roots and build a better future for future generations.
