Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

#OurFutures stories by EU citizens
I wish for a world in which the people of the globe talk to each other and act together for a sustainable and liveable future and not knock each other's heads like 1000 years ago. I want to live in a world that wants to find and seek solutions together and not in one of despots and fools and egomaniacs, as is currently the case.
I would like to see free movement of European citizens in Europe, Europe to be governed by a central government that ensures equity in the distribution of essential services, health, education and jobs. Have created a central defense system of both law enforcement for territorial security and a united army for border defense. Have the ecological transition not be imposed but a natural evolution of everyone's well-being with incentives for the development of green technologies making the most of natural resources without compromising the ecosystem in the various states.
Have free movement of goods on dedicated facilities minimizing interference with civilian traffic and minimizing pollution produced.
Create university hubs where students can develop their aptitudes without social and economic discrimination.
A health care system that guarantees equal care for all and with research hubs where research can be financed for the welfare of the population, cozy facilities where it is possible to spend the years of one's life with dedicated care.
Environmentally sustainable city redevelopment programs with parks, sports facilities and places for recreation.
Utopia
A totally different world, where there are no differences, where there is no fight against the extracommunity, where any person can walk and live their lives peacefully. A world where climate change no longer exists, and where lobbies who are ready to do anything to gain more power no longer exist. The future I want will never exist, the future is worrying.
I would like to see a calmer environment than before; people should live peacefully side by side and let everyone live. There should be no envious people
all people will have many opportunities to live out their career aspirations. everyone should be able to afford a nice apartment in which they can look after a family.
no more terror and people running amok Children should be able to grow up in security and feel safe
A future without war, equal opportunities for everyone, renewed social ties, a "connection" between different generations, back to basics, i.e. dialogue within the family, between friends, discovering others, other cultures, caring for and respecting our neighbors, believing in the noble values of our ancestors...
Il mondo peggio
Surely the fashion world should adapt to the recycling of fabrics and clothing already made and no longer produce the same quantities that are produced today, so fashion would be much more oriented to secondhand and textile recycling. Private mobility should be reduced only where it is indispensable, so the public transport network should be completely expanded this time, leaving room for new means of commuting. I fear that by 2040 the climate has changed a lot, I imagine that there will be many problems related to water supply, so I imagine that there will be water rationing not so much for citizens as for companies and industries. The world of agriculture will therefore also be affected by the new, obviously warmer climate, and therefore cultures will be rethought and modified according to the new temperatures. Even at the political level I imagine that we are going to create an Orwellian situation in which states will form new alliances and coalitions and go towards a clearer block division, even the exchange of goods between the various blocks will be much more complex.
2040 is running. We are in Andalusia, a newly created republic that functions economically, socially and culturally as a private, self-contained region. The representatives of this region have excellent diplomatic relations with their neighbours, the other smaller regions. It has no impatience, no resentment, no envy and no false moves. The Homeland is focused on the needs of the people and works hard for the benefit of society. The biggest promise is in the economy. Large companies (companies with over 500 employees) are banned. The basis of the economy is agriculture, zanati, cultural tourism in the smaller community. The real issue is the growth of the economy. The rule is that the owner of a company cannot live more than 6 days away from the last owner. New gardens and schools are being built in the region every year, and a great deal of attention is being paid to various adult education programmes. Certain major issues are decided by referendum. The Mayor is elected every 4 years and the highest representative can only hold office for 5 years. Castles, towns and villages pay great attention to energy efficiency, so wind turbines are built and solar panels are used. There is a growing solidarity between people and the honour of spending a certain number of days a year volunteering in hospitals, schools and the environment.
A future where the focus of attention is man in his entirety and nekl his way of posing in society. A man dedicated to doing good and using those tools suitable to bring collective and not selfish well-being. I would like music to have a predominant place in living in harmony not only between physical people but also in harmony with the nature around us.
I would like the world to be at peace in 2040. I would like the so-called powers of the world not to make deals with each other that result in small countries being wiped off the face of the earth. So that the dictators who are still in power today understand that their actions are unacceptable to the people and are willing to hand over power to the people themselves.
I would like to see respect and support for every human being in 2040. Whether they are elderly, children or disabled. So that we can all understand that often disability is not our own doing and that we will all grow old one day. And that by that time we will all have the empathy to accept such people as equals .
I very much hope that we will all have enough money to live decently . That we will all be able to live in our own homes , that we will have enough to eat and clean water to drink . That we can get the necessary and effective medical care in case of health problems and that all our children can learn according to their abilities . I would like us all to be happy.
It is the year 2040 Sweden has never been this safe since 1960. Everyone has jobs and there is a high standard of living. People are working and can afford to buy houses and cars. there has not been a single shooting in 2 years. Productivity in society has increased. Sweden has never been this successful ever. The population of Sweden is 15 million several big cities are built the municipal traffic is faster. And we have planted lots of forest so Sweden is green and beautiful. Sweden has strengthened defense strict borders. Gang crime no longer exists and you have the right to freedom of expression again.
Electricity is produced by nuclear power and ways have been found to recycle uranium for sustainable electricity production. We have also produced fewer cars and invested more in public transportation. Sweden is more free and you get a better education in school and kids who are messy get detention again as it was before
I'd like to see a European federal government with economic powers over and above those of the federated states. If absolutely necessary, this federal government would also have military powers.
However, many powers would be left to the federated states. There's a lot to be taken and left from the German, Swiss, United States of America (yes, even there you can find good things) and other similar systems that I can't think of.
P.S. One of the first things to do is to "civilize" the so-called "social" networks.
As we grow older, one hopes, of course, that the broken care of the elderly will finally be put right, both here and elsewhere. Help will be available at home as and when the elderly person's condition requires it. There are enough hands and time in home care. This would allow people to live longer in familiar surroundings for as long as possible. A familiar landscape in which to move around according to one's ability. And when it is time to move to a nursing home or service home or similar, there are enough hands and staff to stop and chat and organise activities and pastimes together, respecting the residents until the end.
Cities have begun to build large green spaces, for example by extending parks and building large parking structures. This means that many parking spaces on the ground can be demolished and replaced by vegetation. Trees, shrubs and flower chains that provide a variety of habitats for animals. And plants too. A living park is refreshing to visit, if it really is a living park and not a systematic field of trees. Winding paths mimic outdoor trails for the disabled, with winter maintenance. If snow and ice still 2050 are current.
Outside urban areas, forest felling has become selective and clear-cutting has been completely abandoned. Species-rich stands of many ages provide space for diverse biodiversity. Wooded fields have become forests again, with a high diversity of vegetation and species, allowing for diversity in other life forms. It is a good place to pick berries and mushrooms, or simply to wander around for refreshment and relaxation in the midst of the hustle and bustle.
