Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

L'Europa migliore
L'Europa migliore
I would like to see a Europe that is finally united, speaking with one, unanimous voice at international tables. That dares to stand up to the U.S. that thinks it owns the world. In which civil rights are assured for all. A Europe that is much greener and mindful of future generations. A Europe that does not repudiate progress and respects traditions. A secular Europe.

I wish there was a law banning the use of cell phones by those under 16 and that all violent video games would disappear. That we could go back to being able to enjoy our city without the fear of walking the streets risking assault, mugging or the like
Demokrati och självtillit
Demokrati och självtillit
Democracy and self-reliance. My main wish is that all countries that are now ruled by either relgious or warmongering autocrats would disappear and all countries would experience democracy. Locally, that Finns would be better at selling their products abroad and that those with financial means would invest in their own country.
Sustainable climate change
Sustainable climate change
In 2040, climate change is no no longer the biggest issue humanity is facing. Waste is sorted and recycled by the same rules in every European country and is no longer just burned, dumped to a landfill or sent over to third world countries. People, including companies, know there are limited resources, value them and use them in a sustainable way. Food is no longer wasted in stores, items with best before etc. dates are not considered trash but still a valuable product that people in true need can have access to. Also fabrics can be recycled or repurposed.

Well, I think a future in which war is outlawed would suit me just fine, because it's a crime against humanity, ecology and the planet, and should be enshrined in every country's constitution, along with the right to peace. Secondly, that money should not be the driving force behind everything, and that there should be less difference in income between everyone. Finally, that we govern and produce more locally, without the possibility of getting too rich, to simply meet our needs, in each country,,already.and the world will be better off, that's for sure...and so will I!!!! A lot less unhappiness and a lot more happiness
Schöne neue Welt
Schöne neue Welt
Getting up. When I got out of bed, the coffee machine switched itself on and made two cups of fresh coffee. Shortly after that, the oven starts because my breakfast rolls are ready. After breakfast, my closet suggests what I should wear today. It takes into account the weather forecast that it has retrieved from the Internet. I listen to news about the areas that interest me on the loudspeakers in my apartment. I can change the preselection at any time, but the AI registers how I react to the individual items, recognizes my interests and adjusts the selection of items accordingly. Then the work begins. I sit in a virtual open-plan office and can interact with all my colleagues via my VR glasses. Individual work performance is assessed, taking into account age and current state of health, and the result is displayed with a signal. Green means that performance is above expectations, yellow indicates average and red means that work performance is below average and overtime is therefore required to complete the usual workload.

If I could imagine a future for 2040 with more focus on technology, I would like to see a world where advanced technology has improved people's lives in ways we cannot imagine today. It's not just about faster computers or more powerful AI, but a future where technology is fully integrated into every aspect of our lives in a way that makes us more efficient, creative and connected than ever before. In this future, artificial intelligence and machine learning would be common tools in everyday life. AI would be so integrated that we barely notice it anymore. It would help us make better decisions, automate boring and repetitive tasks, and even adapt to our individual needs, making life more efficient and enjoyable. For example, AI systems could help improve human health by predicting diseases before they occur or by optimizing our exercise programs based on our biology and lifestyle. The world would also be full of connected, intelligent devices - from cars that drive themselves and communicate with each other to avoid traffic and accidents, to homes that are fully automated and adapt to our routines. Smart cities would have infrastructure that adapts to the needs of the population in real time, such as traffic flows, energy efficiency and safety. Healthcare would also undergo a revolution, with advanced technologies such as nanotechnology and gene editing not only treating diseases but also preventing them. Diagnosis and treatment would be more precise than ever, with surgical robots working with high precision and wearable devices continuously monitoring our health. People could live longer and with a better quality of life. Education and work would be radically transformed by virtual and augmented reality. We would have access to virtual classrooms or workplaces that allow us to collaborate and learn no matter where we are in the world. This would create new opportunities for both global collaboration and individual development, where we can access the best education and work opportunities without being limited by geographical barriers. And finally, the human experience would also be transformed by technology. Using virtual worlds and brain-computer interfaces, we could experience new types of interactions and experiences, such as traveling to other planets or engaging in fully immersive, virtual experiences that feel as real as the world around us. Technology would not only change what we do, but also how we experience the world and our existence. This future is not about just living with technology, but about becoming more human and creative by using technology as an extension of our own abilities. Technology would be a tool to maximize our potential and create a more dynamic and connected world.
Ein Wunschtraum?
Ein Wunschtraum?
People live together in peace and democracy with respect, tolerance and social justice. Cultural and individual diversity is celebrated, environmental and climate problems are tackled and solved through innovation. Equal treatment and social participation of all people is finally taking place, and nature, flora and fauna are treated with respect. The focus is no longer on economic progress but on education, health, care and well-being for all. And everyone helps as their abilities allow.
Parks statt Parkplätze
Parks statt Parkplätze
In 2040, people have finally realized how important it is for everyone to protect the climate. There has been a real rethink in transport planning and cars are no longer the main means of transportation. Cities are following the concept of short distances and alternative means of transportation, such as cable cars, have become established. As a result, the quality of life has also improved enormously. Instead of parking lots, there are now green spaces and water areas that make spending time in the city more pleasant.
Sustainable cities
Sustainable cities
In 2040, at 41 years old, I envision a Europe that is more inclusive, innovative, and environmentally conscious. One of the most important issues for me is sustainable urban living—creating cities that are both technologically advanced and deeply connected to nature. In my ideal future, cities are designed for people, not just for cars. Public transportation is fully electric, efficient, and free, making private cars almost unnecessary. Green spaces are everywhere—rooftop gardens, vertical forests on buildings, and parks designed to promote biodiversity. Smart technology ensures energy efficiency, with homes powered by renewable sources and waste managed through circular economy principles. Work-life balance has significantly improved, with remote and hybrid work models allowing people to live in smaller, sustainable communities rather than being forced into overcrowded urban centers. Education is more accessible, personalized, and lifelong, adapting to individual needs and technological advancements. Socially, inclusivity is at the heart of communities. Policies ensure equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of background, and mental health is given as much importance as physical health. Automation and AI handle repetitive tasks, freeing people to focus on creative, meaningful work. This future is not just a dream but a possibility—one that requires cooperation, forward-thinking policies, and active participation from all of us. By embracing innovation while staying connected to human values, we can create a Europe that is sustainable, inclusive, and thriving for generations to come.
Demokrati och fred
Demokrati och fred
A better world for all people and a world that only evolves for the better all the time. Democracy, human rights, social justice and peace throughout the world. Children's rights are respected in all countries, women have the same rights as men, and the strong take care of the weak in society. We take care of our planet and respect each other's differences. No corrupt politicians and dictators. Smaller gaps between rich and poor. We find solutions to problems so that all people have the absolute best conditions to thrive.
Europa unita
Europa unita
United Europe. I would like there not to be so many armies with so many individual state expenditures but one European army. Also I would like to eliminate the duplication of law enforcement agencies that continually get in the way by having for the Italian state a duplication in commanders etc. A European salary system and not of each state. In short if we are Europe we must have common intentions, otherwise we dissolve Everything.
