Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

#OurFutures stories by EU citizens
Den v roce 2050
Ema woke up in the quiet bedroom of her smart house. The windows automatically dimmed to keep out the morning sun, and the holographic assistant told her it was time to get up. She had an important meeting today - her first day at her new job as Sustainable Innovation Coordinator.
The world had changed since 2025. After the global energy crisis, humanity had finally come together and invested in renewable energy. Fossil fuels were a thing of the past, and every city had its vertical farms to supply the population. While the climate crisis was not completely solved, people learned to live more sustainably.
Ema went out and got into an autonomous solar vehicle. With a universal basic income, no one had to choose between survival and personal development. Technology served people, not corporations. She watched the city with a smile - full of green, clean air, and people who finally had time to live, not just survive.
Vesmír je na dosah
The year is 2040. There are several billion people in the world, because a cure for longevity has been found. But you can travel to space, you can actually live there, and you can even choose a planet. Mars has people who like rocky "seas", Pluto has people who like fresh water and 100% oxygen. Scientists and doctors are going to Jupiter and trying to find a cure for cancer( it still hasn't been found yet, but it's well on its way). Well, those who like life on Earth stayed here.
Cars are no longer just racing on the roads, but even in the sky, competing with planes and shuttles. Tourism is booming. Everybody wants to go to space.
Moderní Evropa jako lepší místo pro život všech
I would like the future if the EU would take more care and constantly increase the euro emission standards mainly for cars so that old wrecks like the Skoda Fabia from 2000 disappear from the roads. We also need a Europe where migration is dealt with more thoroughly and migrants are deported if they commit any crime. This is the only way to ensure Europe's security. Furthermore, the EU should take more care to ensure that EU countries introduce more and more digitisation and make it easier for people to work. It is also necessary for the EU to address the differences in wages between, for example, Germany and the Czech Republic.
Like it was
I want to live in a future where people will be more kind, grow their own food and treat each other as brothers abd sister. There will be no classes, we will all be equally rich and if anyone would do anything to oppose that, s/he will be send to the space. Everyone will have jobs. No more homeless people and robots will help us in making that change cause, sadly, human nature is always corrupting. I would also raise some wild animals to look after for every human. We will live one with the nature and pollution will be on the lowest.
Větší rozdíl mezi ekonomickými třídami
I have 2 children and in 15 years they will be 18 and 21, basically they will be adults, but I reckon that if they don't study abroad they will live here. I hope that by then technology will have moved on again and everything will be even easier and more connected. That even if they live abroad, contact will be possible without any problem. I hope that many of the diseases that threaten us now will be completely eradicated thanks to vaccines on the decline, I expect cancer to become a common disease. I think there will be a greater disparity between the economic classes and we, as the upper middle class, will be worse off overall, but since we already own property and will eventually get more from family, I reckon we will actually be better off overall, but worse off on a day to day basis. The biggest difference will be in the top end, which will be even better off, and the bottom end, which unfortunately will be even worse off.
Lepší zítřky
It would certainly be better for the future for every country to live in peace, that is, without fighting, wars, violence. Just so that people are equally equal, I mean without hunger. Jobs for all ages. Of course the elderly should not work. People should retire earlier than 70. A suitable age range would be 55-58 for women and men.
EU decided to finally stop self-destructing
European leadership finally started prioritising European citizens over foreigners and corporate demands for cheap labour and stopped the mass uncontrolled migration, protecting European culture and values.
The unelected bureaucrats of the EU commission stepped back and allowed for the nation members to actually govern themselves for the most part, and worked to guarantee the freedoms of the citizens and a high standard of living in the union instead.
Finally, to tackle the declining birthrates, traditional family values were promoted and incentives given to young Europeans to start families and create safe environment for the next generation to be raised.
As a woman
I would like not be a second class citizen as a woman. I would like people to take me seriously as a woman. I would like to have the same opportunities as men in my country. I would like to not be afraid of men when alone with them. I would like all women all over the world to have basic human rights and health care. I would like men to start speaking up about violence against women, I would like them to advocate for women, to correct fellow men on their bad behavior and teach respect to their sons. I would like all people on this earth equal regardless of gender, race or sexual orientation.
Lepšia budúcnosť
"By 2040, we will have made society completely fossil-free. The countries of the world have finally realised what needs to be done and have taken responsibility. In Sweden, investments in fossil-free steel and cement have also led to changes in the way we build and develop cities and communities. Biodiversity in both urban and rural areas has been strengthened. Forests are being cared for and used sustainably. We continue to drive, but without emissions and with reduced impact on nature and people. But it is not entirely without problems. Traffic accidents, congestion, road wear and tear and more continue to be a burden. Health problems are only slowly improving. The joint action of the countries around the Baltic Sea is finally having an impact, and we look to the future with some confidence.
Svět v míru
I would like to see peace around the world, or at least a reduction in the number of places where violence and weapons are used. For one thing, it devastates the landscape, but it also increases people's fear. We are human beings and we have a language and we can talk. It takes the joy out of life and people do things they would not otherwise do in a happy life. I think there is a lack of psychological and communication basics in schools, so many people don't know how to live happily.
Automatizace lidské činnosti.
Artificial Intelligence controls the production of industrial robots that automate all human activities such as the production of basic goods, controls scientific research and research including prototypes together with scientists, controls robots that replace doctors in operations, provides all mobility with self-driving electric cars, etc.
