Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

De-escalation of life (Umirjenost življenja)
In the future, I would like to focus primarily on energy and care for the environment. It would be useful to put in place some form of regulation that would prevent large corporations from further environmental pollution to such an extent. There is a need to continue to raise awareness of this issue and to switch as many services as possible to nature-friendly resources. I also consider it important to put an end to corruption in politics. In addition, I want more funding for education. I think it is important to highlight the mental health of people, as this is of utmost importance for the individual’s actions in society. My very great value is a place for life and I want to enable and support life in rural areas, at a more calm pace of everyday life.
You will be ill once. (Enkrat bo bolš.)
I want to do even more in the future in the field of nature conservation and to minimise the impact on nature conservation.
I want to make it easier for young people to get access to real estate.
To make food cheaper. I would like every family to have a smaller weekend at sea.
To make it easier for young people to reach their car and to make repair and maintenance costs less high.
I want employees to be able to have time off and paid relaxation activities in their working hours.
I want everyone to have their own personal psychologist who advises or ‘lead’ them throughout their lives.
A healthy future (Zdrava prihodnost)
In the future, I want nature to be healthier for the individual. In addition, I want society to have healthy working and living conditions. The health of the individual can be achieved in two ways. The first one depends on a healthy environment where there are no solid particles and healthy lives, because we know that the environment affects our activities and that many people die every year from obesity and polluted atmospheres. ‘Fast food’, which is cheap, also contributes to this, making it a common source of nutrition for the more poor. It is also difficult for the poor to afford healthy ingredients to make up a meal, as a healthy meal costs more. In 2040, I want healthy food to be made more accessible to people and I want the environment to be healthier for individuals. This would lead to a healthier and happier population, increasing the lifespan of people and reducing cardiovascular diseases.
1984 (1984)
With technolo &scaron progress, we are opening up the chances of living in absolute prosperite, without work. I believe that this is the ultimate goal of any society – the enjoyment of the fruits of the work of others, without the exploitation &taining of others, in this case an automated workforce. Large companies and corporations are developing technologies that are slowly but certainly depriving work of value. The potential work of crowds will no longer be needed, leading to a major crisis. I believe that in times of crisis, a dictator will be inspired by a dictator that will navigate all companies and distribute state-owned products, goods created by and under state-owned machines fairly to the people. The only dictatorial regime that actually functions is, for example, the Pericle period, also known as the Golden Age of Athens. Goods will be distributed among the population in the form of basic income and universal basic services. The problem of global warming will bring the world together under an association of a few larger dictators to offer a prosperite to humans and stop working. This will allow individuals to start engaging in areas that are really of interest to them and go from hands.
higher salaries, affordable living spaces
As I am sure everyone would relate, I would like not to worry about money all the time. Given that prices of living spaces have grown exponentially over the course of the last 10/20 years, I am afraid I will not be able to afford a house 20 years from now. Additionally, I would not like to work away my whole days and only work for paying off my house or apartment. I think that an 8 hour long shift is still too long and when you are finished with work you are so tired, your day can not be productive anymore. You still have so little time in a day, that you stretch it out by procrastinating and not sleeping, so consequentially it is harder to get up in the morning. Anyhow, the monthly salaries are still so low, a lot of people can barely get through the month. So, I would like to live in a world with higher salaries and more affordable living spaces.
Brave new World
In 2040 there are some geopolitical blocs that make up the service, ordinary people are immersed in hyper-consumerism and thereby kept sweet, because we can easily satisfy our material needs we keep our peace. Meanwhile, the environment being artificially kept alive has been made completely technocratic. The hip people are going to live on march.
Fair Year 2040 (Pravično leto 2040)
In 2040, I want poverty to be reduced and all to have a roof over the head. When you are alone in a position where you don’t use a particular burden and care, or will be able to put a lunch or dinner on the table, it is often forgotten how serious it is for others. When I listen to the sad stories of other people, it is serious to me. In the future, I would like to see nothing thick and no hungry. I want everyone to have their own family and home where they are love. Everyone has the opportunity to earn their own bread. I want the future to be fair.
Sustainable future (Sustainable future)
By the year of 2040, I would like to see that the world transformed completely to using renewable power sources. I am looking forward to see all the great technologycal innovations, and to find out what can we do with it and will we use it for the well being of the Earth and ourselves. In that better future we will be able to make this Earth sustainable four our grandchildren and kids.
At least a little peace (Vsaj malo miru)
I want more peace in the future. More peace, patience, compassionate, help for fellow people... At a time when everyone is so tense and sometimes not contemplated in advance, I want to be able to stop for a moment. I want to see in the future how life is mintable, fragile, short, but above all beautiful. I believe that there are many people who are aware of it, and this is reflected in mentality, the way of life. This makes people better, easier to function, and more opportunities to understand that we are not alone in the world. I hope 2040 is more peaceful, free of war and any kind of intolerance, so that people do not forget what is love and that, in the event of disagreement, there would be time and space for dialogue to resolve the disagreement.
The future of all (Prihodnost vseh)
In 2040, I would like to see some of the problems that have arisen as a result of humanity’s actions over the past 200 years be solved. This problem is mainly global warming and the destruction of the planet. In addition, I would like to see more people who feel connected to others in the future – only through cooperation and integration can we make further progress. The best example of this is technological progress, which is largely the result of cooperation and accumulation and knowledge transfer over thousands of years. I think that working together is secret to tackle the problem of global warming, since we will have to get closer together in the future if we want to solve this problem. The policy will have to be integrated, as it is already doing with international climate conferences, but more needs to be done to solve the problem. Systematic solutions in the form of laws and sanctions will be needed to guide society as a whole towards more environmentally friendly action. Society will have to behave somewhat less individually and more collectively, and I want a democratic system in the future that allows everyone to participate, express their opinions freely and see each individual as something specific and enable them to grow personally, which is later seen for the benefit of society. I can conclude that some of the guidelines for such action are already in place (environmental laws and sanctions), but that their execution and implementation are currently not at a level that solves the problem. In addition, solving environmental problems requires technological developments that would increase the possibilities for substitution of resources (which would make them more affordable) that contribute to the problem, and this progress can be achieved through scientific integration worldwide, which has proven to be effective in many places (including in the production of COVID-19 vaccines).
