Inside the first self-sustainable city on Mars - by ABIBOO studio
Construction of the city of Nüwa could start in 2054 and will see 250,000 people live inside the rock of a steep cliff. Freeze my body, melt me in 80 years, and send me to Mars. Architecture studio ABIBOO has revealed its plans to create the first self-sustainable city on the Red Planet, which is set to be ready for residents in 2100. The city will be called Nüwa and will be located at Tempe Mensa on one of the Martian cliffs. Its position inside a rock on the steep cliff will protect its residents from radiation and meteorites (cool!) while still giving them

Creative production
Creative production
Operational by 2040. The evolution of VR, AR and 4D printing technologies and the significant reduction in their costs are paving the way for the creation of new generation ecocrafts. The creative industry at home is flourishing. Millions of projects to create objects – from customised and customised everyday equipment to immersive works of art – are ongoing in the homes of individuals or groups of people. The objects produced are sold through new-generation marketplaces, while the consumer can intervene in their production and configure them even during the creation phase, through a process of dynamic interaction with the product and the manufacturer’s digital assistant: an AI algorithm capable of assessing and managing new requests and learning alone about the specificities of potential buyers. These projects generate new income, while low production costs allow more people to access the production process. At the same time, the fact that production is spread across many different locations allows the supply of products and services within a very short radius from the consumer’s home, which reduces the cost and environmental footprint of transport. At the same time, new forms of art are being created, with works that interact with the viewer and are transformed, and a new code of ethics is being established to protect users of immersive environments from the possibility of universal immersion in virtual worlds.

One... for the other (Ο ένας...
One... for the other (Ο ένας...
The future I imagine is about people. More specifically, in 2040, I would not like to have a single man on the planet who is hungry. In fact, I would like all states on all continents to allow all people to receive free education and medical care. Important assets such as those mentioned are necessary for any human existence and should not be degrading by any financial compensation. In this way, the world will revise its principles and values and focus on self-improvement by living in a world of equal treatment for all. I also imagine a world united with common goals and on the same path, without defending alleged borders, wars and conflicts. I imagine a world full of love and hope. With acts rather than words.
Living and working in Europe (In Europa leben und arbeiten)
Living and working in Europe (In Europa leben und arbeiten)
– So, fertig. Schwerpunkt in diesem Jahr: Belarus. – So, fertig. From ego to eco (From ego to eco)
From ego to eco (From ego to eco)
Society is fair and equal and has planetary and human wellbeing at his core. Economic growth and the pursue of power are no longer the goal. Sufficiency and sustainability are driving principles. Diversity is valued. Society is underpinned by a sense of oneness, mutual respect, altruism, compassion and care. People are committed to their personal development and to actively contribute to society through democratic participatory processes. Conflicts are seen as opportunities for transformation.
The non-administration: how digital everything finally got rid of paper and admin
The non-administration: how digital everything finally got rid of paper and admin
Life in 2040 is super digital, and all the public services are as simple as using Uber in 2021. In fact, the system is so supportive that anyone can immediately receive its social benefits, get a certificate and file taxes in a click. Since everything is interconnected digitally and we pay with digital payment means, professions such as notary, accountant and most administrative tasks disappeared because they are now irrelevant. Any sort of paper trail, back and forth of documents and admin process is made a thing of the past. Public services are becoming as good as private ones since they now use the same philosophy. They fire civil servants who do not perform, understand their user's needs, and make sure that they deliver a top of line functioning service. People have started to accept that administrations are actually there to help them live a better life, and they don't feel anymore like kids in front of a teacher. This brings calm and orders to society since no one can complain anymore about being left out. Society starts to transition from a notion of elite leaders to meritocratic leaders. We hire the President like we do a CEO. If he does perform, he is pushed out. Thanks to big data and analysis, we can measure the degree of confidence and foresight between the declarations of public figures and how accurate they were. The ones who consistently miss the mark and whose predictions are wrong - disappear from public life. The same happens for newspapers and journalists who do not make accurate predictions or whose opinions are not matching reality. They end up working for fiction newspapers and are barred from accessing any "non-fiction" news outlets.

Peacefull planetary systems - making civilisations/religions coexist
Peacefull planetary systems - making civilisations/religions coexist
I will be 64 in 2040. If I avoid serious cancer or traffic accident. I would probably value most peaceful coexistence on our planet with a sort of planetary system of governence, most probably based on regional blocks with the EU playing such a role. I would like all kids at school from the age of 10 to have an important curruculum of cross-cultural and civilizational knowledge. We do not have to speak Chinese to understand the key notions of this continent-country. Same for sub-Saharan Africa. I have been triggered by ''Connectography'' by Parag Khanna were he shows the density of communication within and between key planetary networks. I would like to be able to watch a planetary debate about the distribution of CO2 rights, not with 196 countries but by 8-10 regional representatives. There should be a State of the Planet yearly debate (maybe on the Earth Day). We need to recognise our planetary responsibility while not erasing our cultural/ philosophical differences. Being 64 I would like to be part of discussion with younger and older people about the global curriculum for schools, where different people come and describe their walks of life and jointly discuss avenues for solutions.
The Bioelectromagnetic Age
The Bioelectromagnetic Age
In 2040, many of the most innovative breakthroughs being developed to contribute to sustainability, productivity and quality of life involve the synergistic combination of knowledge related to biology, science and technology. One of the biggest breakthroughs that has been achieved is Bioelectromagnetic Design – the customised design of the electromagnetic characteristics of environments and technologies to enhance wellbeing and biological functioning. Interest in Bioelectromagnetic Design had initially arisen in popularity, and necessity, as a result of many in the insurance industry refusing to cover health issues related to electromagnetic pollution, the growing incidences of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity in many of the world’s populations, and a number of enlightened health agencies advocating the adoption of stronger protective guidelines. It received a further boost when entrepreneurs recognised that if they took into account the suggestions of ‘early warning’ scientists when designing technologies and products, the risks they faced were reduced and their opportunities for disruptive innovation increased. The growing interest and efficacy of electromedicine further increased the appeal of such tactics, and by 2035 such approaches had become mainstream with the creation of more bioelectromagnetically healthy environments and technologies becoming the choice of the masses. The knowledge that we can work in closer harmony with nature through having a better understanding of the biological effects of the electromagnetic spectrum, and can use that to our advantage and the advantage of the planet itself in its extended recovery period, is been a real blessing.
